Preferred Engineering Products' in-house testing facility ensures that all of our system hardware is capable of withstanding the harshest conditions and abuse that your windows may experience. However, window operating hardware is typically tested as a component of a finished window, the window itself is then granted the certification for which it has been tested.
When windows are tested for performance they are subjected to testing procedures designed to measure different performance aspects. A window's performance level is a function of the frame, glass and hardware components working together to provide a functional window. While these tests measure the performance as a complete unit, performance is affected by the individual components themselves. In all cases of testing with Preferred Engineering Products hardware, window failure was due to components other than the operating hardware.
